ADVICE BEFORE THE TRIP
Flights: Flights from Europe to Kelowna, Calgary or Spokane (US) are not included but can be easily booked online at e.g. SAS, Lufthansa, Air Canada, KLM or BA. We will help if you need more specific information.
Arrival: You arrive in Calgary, Kelowna or Spokane no later than the night before your heliskiing trip begins. The next day you will go to Kootenay in Nakusp where you need to arrive no later than 6:00 PM (PT).
Departure: On the day of departure you ski all day. Check-out approx. 17:00 (PT), then own transport to hotel for overnight stay. Return flights are booked with departure the following day.
Driving time in good road conditions
- Kelowna – Kootenay (3.5 – 4 hours)
- Spokane – Kootenay (5 – 5.5 hours)
- Calgary – Kootenay (5 hours)
Transport options
Option 1 – Rental car
Own transport to the lodge with rental car. Many car rental companies are represented at the airports in Calgary, Kelowna and Spokane. CMH recommends renting only cars with 4-wheel drive and winter tires. Maps for the Kootenay can be found on the following links…
Option 2 – Shuttle
If you don’t rent a car, you can book a shuttle for CAD 150 + tax / person and route. The day the heliski program starts, it departs from the Four Points Sheraton Kelowna at 12:00 PM (PT). Departure day departs at 4:45 PM (PT) arriving at Kelowna Airport at 8:45 PM (PT).
Option 3 – Private transfer
If you prefer a transfer with a driver, please contact us at CMH Nordic and we will help you organize a private transfer.
Travel documents: A valid passport, eTA visa, proof of being fully vaccinated, PCR test not older than 72 hours from boarding transit flight directly to Canada and completing travel information in ArriveCAN (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/arrivecan.html) is required for entry into Canada. The eTA approval is electronically linked to your passport and is valid for five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

PRE-HELI SKIING
Many of our guests choose to travel to Canada a few days before the start of the heli skiing program to get over their jet lag and warm up with skiing in a ski resort. CMH Nordic will help you with information and booking if desired.
